Time to Eat

Mealtimes are Wild

Mealtimes with a toddler can be an adventure. When I offered my son a walnut, he looked at me and said, ‘butterfly’. And when I served him mashed potato, he cried ‘fluffy cloud!’

As a parent, my first instinct is often to tell my son to stop playing with the food and eat everything on his plate. I have to remind myself to relax and encourage his wild sense of imagination.

To add some fun to our mealtime routine, I share quirky nursery rhymes about food. One of our favourites is I Eat My Peas with Honey. What fun and games do you have at the table with your little ones?
